YOUTH x ACTIVE LIFESTYLE x LEADERSHIP
VARS/TY has joined the movement to promote physical activity and healthy living. It is a one of a kind initiative that challenges young people to be committed to not only being fit but also to standing out as leaders in their community.
The program focuses on functional movements, skill development, balance, agility, mobility, strength and conditioning. The program is also designed to enrich young people’s lives by providing them with opportunities to experience creative forms of movements while also being connected with other youth, resources, and volunteer opportunities in the community.
VARS/TY is a holistic approach to ensuring that youth grow up to reach their full potential. Our aim is to empower young people to become first-string in athletics, community and in life.
The VARS/TY INITIATIVE is in partnership with STR/KE MVNMT. STR/KE Movement was founded on the goal of providing the best technical aesthetic alternatives for athletes and active lifestyle pursuits. They aim to establish a higher performance standard while maintaining purity of design.

Physical activity is critical to our children’s health and well-being. Research has repeatedly shown that children who practice good health maintain higher attendance rates, are better able to learn, exhibit higher self-esteem, and have a lower risk of developing chronic diseases. It has also been found that when children and teenagers adopt healthy habits, they’re more likely to carry those habits into adulthood. The VARS/TY INITIATIVE will challenge youth to make physical activity a part of their lifestyle. We strive to enhance the physical, emotional and social well-being of youth through health, fitness and movement.
x ACTIVE LIFESTYLE
There is no doubt that young people need to have physical activity as a part of their lives. VARS/TY provides a space for youth to come together to experience fitness and movement in a positive and fun way. The program is for any youth who wants to become stronger, faster, more agile and better balanced whether to excel in Athletics or just in Life.
The programs will have a strong component of CrossFit, a growing strength and conditioning program that focuses on broad, general and inclusive fitness. Through the CrossFit program, youth will be trained to best prepare them for any physical activity that life throws at them. This may include movements such as sprinting, pull-ups, rowing, jumping rope, climbing rope, flipping tires, weightlifting, gymnastics, and many bodyweight exercises.
In order to create a more holistic training experience, the VARS/TY program will also have aspects of sports, yoga, martial arts, and Parkour. We believe that training not only has to keep youth moving, it also has to be constantly evolving, varied, and fun in order for it to be successful.
This is the component of VARS/TY that makes it unique to other youth fitness programs. It focuses on providing a space for youth to get support and resources in becoming leaders in the community. In one hour, youth will not only be put through a safe and challenging workout but at the end of every session there will always be space for youth to bring up any questions, have discussion and get support from an experienced and connected youth worker from the community. This is an opportunity for youth to have dialogue and guidance about the things that are relevant to them (school, volunteer work, employment, bullying, relationships etc).
